Educational Healthy Eating Program
Farm to Table is an educational program that is offered in conjunction with their wellness program, Pathways to SmartCare. The goal of this program is to provide opportunities for healthy eating, which includes providing access to local food producers.

Eating Locally
Eating locally produced farm products is advantageous for many reasons. First, the food has not traveled thousands of miles from a farm or processor to your grocery store, potentially compromising the quality of your food. Local food, defined for Farm to Table as within 175 miles of Pittsburgh, arrives just days after being harvested.
Secondly, eating local food means you are supporting local economy. The large rise in demand for locally grown products has supported many small local farmers to the point that they are now expanding their production, not falling short and selling the farm.

Farm to Table Subscription Program and Educational Conference

To provide these opportunities, Farm to Table has teamed with local farms, local businesses that support sustainable agriculture and many leaders of the local food movement that work for change within the Pittsburgh area. We bring these resources together to provide consumers with the tools they need to live a healthy lifestyle. We have seasonal "Farm Subscriptions" that provide consumers with direct access to our local food producers. We also have an annual conference that highlights resources available for eating locally.
